Liz Jacques,
BA, CPPS, Dip.ACNS 

Owner/Operator

Liz has been working in the pet care field since 2001 in both pet sitting and dog daycare capacities. In 2007, she left a Harvard program in scientific research to pursue her passion working with animals and started Companion Synergy in 2009. Her goal with Companion Synergy was to provide specialized care for all pets, but especially pets with special behavioral and physical needs. She is a lifelong student, always expanding her knowledge of animal husbandry, training and behavior, and nutrition, so she can be the best possible resource for her clients. She currently has two Siberian Huskies, Loki (age 12) and Sigyn (age 5).

Special Experience:

  • Experience caring for diabetic and senior pets, pets with cancer, and pets who are reactive and/or fearful.
  • Experience administering medications and injections
  • Active in breed specific rescue efforts with multiple organizations, serving as a foster home for spaniels, huskies, and greyhounds.
  • Experience working with large groups of dogs in an off-leash setting.
  • Behavior intern with Jo Jacques, CDBC, ACCBC.

Certifications/Education:

  • Certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International.
  • Diploma in Advanced Canine Nutritional Sciences through the Companion Animal Sciences Institute.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Wheaton College.

Favorite thing about working with pets:
Getting through to our most fearful dogs. There’s nothing more rewarding than taking the time to gain their trust.

Christian Jacques

Co-Owner/Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

Christian joined the Companion Synergy team in 2017. He is a lifelong animal lover and grew up with both cats and dogs. He has a passion for working with more challenging dogs, gaining their trust in a positive way. Christian is currently studying to become a Certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International.

Special Experience:

  • Experience handling large breeds and reactive dogs
  • Experience administering medications/injections in dogs and cats
  • Experience working with large groups of dogs in an off-leash setting.

Certifications/Education:

  • Currently in training to become a Certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International

Favorite thing about working with pets:
Making pets feel at home and comfortable even when their owners aren’t there.

Jo Jacques

Training and Behavior Consultant/Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

Jo has been working with pets as a trainer and behavior consultant since 2005. She has been a consultant for Companion Synergy clients since our opening in 2009, and officially joined our team full-time in 2016 as a dog walker and pet sitter as well. She currently cares for a 4-year-old Siberian Husky and Service Dog in Training named Torsten and a cat, Tippi.

Special Experience:

  • Experience caring for diabetic and senior pets, blind and deaf pets, pets with cancer, and pets who are reactive and/or fearful.
  • Experience with use of behavior modification techniques such as counter-conditioning and desensitization.
  • Active in breed specific rescue efforts with multiple organizations, serving as a foster home for spaniels, huskies, and greyhounds.
